Who We Are

Freedom Reins Ranch is a non-profit organization located just outside Abilene, TX in the quaint town of Clyde! FRR is a mentorship program in which children from the surrounding communities are able to come and work with a horse alongside a mentor. We are a faith-based organization. We believe Jesus is the Son of God and we work to show Christ’s love. Our program is modeled after Crystal Peaks Youth Ranch in Bend, OR (www.cpyr.org). We believe that horses provide people with a wonderful opportunity to learn about ourselves, others, and our animal friends. Horsemanship can teach many lessons that are applicable in all areas of a person’s life: lessons such as confidence, discipline, kindness, motivation, friendship, management of emotions, following directions, leadership, and much more! We are here to help facilitate children learning these wonderful life lessons that horses are so good at teaching humans.

Who we serve

Children from the surrounding communities between the ages of 7 and 18. There are no restrictions or limitations as to who can come. If a child has an interest in horses, and is willing to participate, then we welcome that child into our program.  There is no certain group of children we are looking to serve, beyond the group of children that want to learn about horses and learn how to ride.  We believe that God will bring the right people to the ranch!

We need your help! (yes, you!)

Please consider helping us continue our ministry efforts.  Would you prayerfully consider becoming a financial partner with us?  We rely solely on funds from people like you.  We don’t charge the families that come here anything for our services, and we’d like to keep it that way.  Most of the families that come here could not afford to send their child here if they had to pay for this service.  Horses are an expensive animal to keep up, and we need your support to continue this ministry.  It costs the Ranch about $185 per month per horse.  Would you consider making a monthly donation to the Ranch to help offset some of that expense?  Or maybe you know a business that would be willing to partner with us with the upkeep expenses for a horse?  Thank you for helping us in any way you can.  We ALWAYS appreciate your prayers, for we know we serve a God who is able to provide for the purpose of expanding His Kingdom.  Follow this link to see what other ways you can help support our ministry:  http://www.freedomreinsranch.org/donate/
